This design was brought about by Ku's interest in heart illustration. We checked out a few different takes on the human heart which led to Marty throwing his own little twist on it. The placement of the heart on the actual shirt was also of interest where we wanted it to be as lifelike and have correct placement in correlation to human anatomy. Blood was always a key aspect of this image not only for the aesthetic use but also because of it's relation to the heart. Marty ended up deciding that the use of blood to spell out 'Dirty Rotten' would be most effective and also gave him a chance to work on his ability with text.
