Sketch the Rhyme X Dirty Rotten

When I was asked to create a guest story for the final round of this season's 'Sketch the Rhyme' I was more than stoked. Since my first show I have always wanted to be a part of this fantastic event that showcases incredible artists blended with some of the greats of Aussie Hip Hop. We also were given the opportunity to host a pop-up shop on the night which gave us the chance to meet and greet audiences we hadn't encountered before.
Below is the story 'The Birth of Denzel Rottington' which ran as my guest story for the night. It did feature some moveable parts which don't reflect to well when still but I think you can gather the gist. The story also featured a guest appearance by our talented buddy MC BUNZ who sported the Denzel Rottington costume for the night to drop a few bars and see the story out.

Sydney Tattoo Expo 2014

I went and checked out the Sydney Tattoo expo this weekend which featured some amazing international artists and some home grown talent. I would definitely recommend anyone thinking about getting tattooed particularly for the first time to check out these conventions and really see how amazing some of the artists out there really are before walking into any given shop without knowing the tattooists. My buddies from Hibernia House Tattoo were there in full force with Scott sporting one of the D.R official tees. I myself managed to catch up with the talented Dean Kalcoff from Melbourne's Dark Cloud Electric shop and get some work added to my own collection.

Funk Soul Brother - LK

So it has been a super long time since I have blogged anything even though it has been at the top of my 'To do' list for a while now. I could not be happier to have this as my first post back; my buddy and talented artist LK's solo exhibition at 'Black Penny' in the Surry Hills of Sydney. His work is a crazy mix of mediums with spray paint, textas, paper cutouts and the use of different found objects including surfboards, chairs and ply wood. As a whole this body of work is one that is an obvious reflection of pop culture, both it's highlights and pitfalls and really shows that LK is more than just a sticker crazed snail man. Dirty Rotten New Years Sale
